What is FBC?
	FBC - like the other business councils - is a non-profit organization. FBC is a voluntary organisation. FBC fosters communication and networking between Finnish and the UAE companies. FBC works in close relationship with Finland Trade Center Finpro and the Finnish Embassy. In comparison to them FBC’s role is to provide a social and club-like platform to its members among serious business matters.

For whom is FBC for?

FBC is an organisation for members, who are seeking and willing to act in means to increase the visibility of Finland and Finnish businesses in the UAE. FBC is primarily a group of businesses and people wanting to participate in building the awareness of the Finnish products and know how in the area. FBC upholds and promotes Finnish traditions, values, culture and sports together with its members.

Organisation

FBC is managed by the Board of Directors. This is composed of a Chairman, Vice Chairmen, and the Honorary Chairmen like the H.E. Ambassador of Finland, Finland Trade Commissioner and other nominated Honorary Chairmen, along the other Board Members. A General Secretary and a Treasurer are nominated by the Board. The Board of Directors remains in charge for a period of two calendar years and may be re-elected for a consecutive term. FBC Business Director is responsible for coordination of the FBC daily admin work and activities according the Board guidelines.

How to reach the goals?

FBC reaches its goals by sharing information by publishing free of charge FinnBIZ e-newsletter. On your permission, we share our business member information to the other members and to any potential business partners looking for a Finnish partner of the specified business category. By actively seeking for members to join the council, as members are seen as Finland and FBC “ambassadors and promoters” to the everyday business and work life. FBC values the interaction and activities of the Finns with the Arab business culture and finds the contacts with the local Emirate Nationals and companies important for the future business development of the Finnish companies. FBC organizes meetings, maintains a website and cherishes a close relationship with Finland Trade Center Finpro and the Finnish Embassy. Relationship is and will be expanded to cover our Nordic Business Councils and gradually several other business councils in the area, too. We work towards to become a high quality source of information for all the expatriate-Finns and businesses in the area.

FBC organized events

As part of our activities, events are scheduled throughout the year mainly from August to June. The activities are of both social and business related according to the demand and member feedback. The event agenda will be constantly updated.
